Charity Partners

Charity Partners

We are very pleased to accept Charity Partners on to this platform in order that they can promote both free and paid events to customers visiting the Experience Hampshire website. There is no charge to advertise a charitable event on our site*.

Whilst we appreciate that a number of venues and educational establishments do operate under charitable status, this offer is aimed at organizations whose primary objectives for fundraising and paid events are the support and social well-being of those who are disadvantaged or in need.

Customers using the platform can either choose to search within a specific date range, in which case any charity events during that period will be displayed, or to search for any Experiences at any time, in which case all future charity events will be displayed in amongst Experiences offered by other non-charity Partners.

In order to feature an event as an Experience on our site you will need register your charity as a new Partner, create a location for the particular event that you are looking to promote and then create the event as an ‘Experience’ so that it appears on the site.

In the description you can give full details of the event including date, location and timings.

We can provide full instructions as to how to upload your event and we are always on hand by email or phone to assist if you encounter any issues.

You can add an event as an experience in two ways:

Free charity event

Create an Experience with free tickets which customers can then ‘book’ on our site. They will choose how many free tickets they require and then check-out to ‘purchase them’ at no cost. The customer will receive a confirmation that they have tickets to the event and you, as the charity, will also receive an email to confirm that x number of tickets have been bought by a customer.

If you are promoting a village fete for instance, then it could be that no-one requires actual tickets and that the event is free for anyone to attend. In this case, the customer doesn’t really need the tickets that they have acquired through our site, but it will give you an idea of how many people who intend coming to the event found out about it through Experience Hampshire.

Paid charity event

Create an Experience with paid tickets which customers can then ‘book’ on our site. They will choose how many tickets they require and then check-out to purchase them at the given cost. The customer will receive a confirmation that they have tickets to the event and you, as the charity, will also receive an email to confirm that x number of tickets have been bought by a customer.

The email provided by Experience Hampshire at the time that the customer books can be used to gain entrance to the event and we will forward the payment for the purchase (less credit card processing fees made by Stripe) to the charity concerned 1 week before the event is due to take place.

In either case (free or paid event), each and every booking through the Experience Hampshire site will generate an automatic email to the Partner (in this case the charity) organising that experience. This requires the Partner to accept the booking by clicking on a link in this email.

For more details on registering your next charity event on our site, please email roger@experiencehampshire.uk

*For paid events promoted on our system, where we take money on your behalf from the customer, we will pass on all monies less the fees charged by Stripe to process that payment. Charities would likely have to pay this charge anyway if customers were booking direct for that same event.

Our Experience Hampshire Charity Partners

Our featured charity partner this month ....

Home-Start Winchester believes that parents play the key role in ensuring that children have a happy and secure childhood. Even the most dedicated parents can face challenging situations and it is at times like these that a volunteer can support and encourage families to overcome their difficulties and provide a stable environment in which their children can flourish. Our volunteers offer friendship and support to parents with at least one child under five. They visit families in their homes for a few hours each week during which time they provide both emotional and practical support.

Home-Start Winchester operates in Winchester and surrounding rural areas. Within the city there are two wards that are amongst the most deprived areas in the UK. We also serve Alresford, Bishop’s Sutton, Bramdean, the Candover Valley, Colden Common, Crawley, Kings Somborne, Otterbourne, Owslebury, Sparsholt, Sutton Scotney and Twyford.
