Your Hampshire - Mark Jones

We speak to Mark Jones, from Mr Blue Sky Consultancy and #StrongerTogetherForum, to find out his favourite things to do in Hampshire. You can find out more about Mark - often referred to as 'Mr Basingstoke' - and his business at Mr Blue Sky Consultancy - Mark Jones - Hampshire

Where in Hampshire do you live?

I live in Romsey with my wonderful wife Donna and our Dachshund Daisy. Donna and I moved here in 1992 - it is such a beautiful town and we fell in love with it on our first visit. I also love Basingstoke, where I have worked for most of the last 30 years. I think I have the best of both worlds!

Where do you like to go on a rainy day?

The sofa in our dining room where I can sit with my wife and our dog in front of an open fire (if autumn/winter) and listen to the rain outside and music inside.

Where is the best place for a cuppa?

Cork and Bean, and Fig & Fox, both in Romsey.

What is your favourite walk?

There is a lovely walk through Romsey that takes in War Memorial Park, the River Test riverbank and The Three Tuns pub!

What do you recommend people do when they visit Hampshire for the first time?

Visit Basingstoke - it really is the jewel in the crown of north Hampshire! A buzzing town with lovely parks and it is surrounded by beautiful countryside in every direction

Where is your favourite spot in Hampshire?

Piccolo Mondo restaurant in Southampton - so many good times, great memories with wonderful family and friends, and simply the best Italian food and service
